Sigma Software University has officially joined the Skills Alliance for Ukraine, an international platform that brings together businesses, educational organizations, government institutions, and international partners around a shared goal: developing the competencies needed for Ukraine’s recovery and long-term growth within the European economy.
For us, joining the Alliance is a natural continuation of our collaboration. The Sigma Software University team has already participated in the Annual Skills Alliance Conference and community meetings in Kyiv, where representatives of business, education, and international organizations discussed workforce shortages, human capital development, and the role of learning in the country’s recovery.

Learning Co-Created with Business
The Skills Alliance for Ukraine’s approaches to professional skills development closely align with Sigma Software University’s experience. These shared priorities are precisely where we can contribute as an educational partner:
- Business engagement. Companies help identify the skills required, shape program content, and provide practical experience.
- Fast, applied formats. Short, intensive programs combining hands-on practice, mentoring, and career support help people transition into new roles more quickly.
- Inclusivity. Engaging women, veterans, internally displaced people, career changers, and other groups expands opportunities for both participants and employers.
- Modern vocational education. Flexible digital formats make it possible to update content quickly in response to market needs.
- Scalability. Online and hybrid learning helps reach participants across different regions and adapt programs to various age groups and levels of professional experience.
These principles already underpin Sigma Software University projects delivered together with industry experts, employers, government institutions, and international partners. Each program is designed around a specific outcome, from faster onboarding to reskilling and employment.

Practical Solutions for Education and Industry
For the Vocational Education Online platform—a space for distance and blended learning created at the request of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine with the support of the International Labour Organization—the Sigma Software University team developed learning maps and 18 interactive courses for 10 professions in construction, electrical networks, and transport.
Another example is a training simulator for the UZ Cargo portal, developed together with representatives of the logistics industry with financial support from the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) within the EasTnT (Eastern Partnership for Trade and Transport) project, implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ Ukraine) GmbH. The solution helps accelerate specialist onboarding and teaches them how to use digital logistics services.

Sigma Software University also delivers programs for veterans, internally displaced people, and other groups seeking new professional opportunities. Together with Helvetas Ukraine and partners, with support from Switzerland, the team is implementing the Digital Skills Development for Vulnerable Groups initiative, which develops digital and AI competencies and supports reskilling and employment.
The Next Step: Skill Partnerships for Productivity
During the third Coordination Meeting of the Skills Alliance for Ukraine, the results of the Skill Partnerships for Productivity call were announced. Sigma Software University was selected as one of eight companies to implement professional skills development projects in Ukraine. Starting in January 2027, the team and its partners will create and update programs in line with market needs, with a particular focus on digital and AI competencies for key recovery sectors.

Membership in the Skills Alliance for Ukraine opens up more opportunities for joint initiatives, partnerships, and programs that help people develop relevant skills while enabling businesses and the economy to become more productive and resilient. For Sigma Software University, it is an opportunity to scale practical educational solutions and work with partners to shape the future of Ukraine’s labor market.
